Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you  finally  made  the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq  to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean  more quality to the paintings, am i right?. 
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only  to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

FAQ and writing

Please forgive any excessive journal spam from me for the next few days! I haven't been on DA much in the last two weeks due to some real life goings-on, but I should be getting back in the swing of things this week, which will include some art (a commissioned comic page and a "Soldier" and/or "Pull Down Heaven" page). I will also be doing some "clean-up" on my main page and my journal section. I'm not a big fan of the new journal system; I'm only human and adverse to change, after all. This means that I will be deleting all topical journals after they are no longer relevant. I will keep up any journals that have tutorials or FAQs, and I will also be setting up a dedicated artist feature journal entry that will be updated periodically.

I also plan on setting up a general FAQ for myself. Are there any questions that you might like to see answered there?

Also, NaNoWriMo fizzled pretty early for me this year. However, I am definitely enjoying the writing process (since it's easier to work on during my lunch breaks than art) and plan to continue it for a bit. I may post some of what I have done here if anyone is actually interested.

I'm actually supposed to be working on my NaNo now (shhh :shifty:) But I'm going to try and keep writing till the end, even if I run into a huge writer's block xD.

An FAQ sounds interesting... I look forward to seeing that!

Ha ha, I will probably keep working on mine, because it's actually a nice break from just doing crossword puzzles on my downtime at work. But there's no way I will be finished at the end of the month! How far have you gotten so far?

D: That really sucks, but as long as you keep writing, at least you can say you participated as well as you could, right?

As for myself, my plot just fell apart. I'm going to keep trying to write it, but right now I'm just so confused as to what's going on... xD
