These are the rules for using my artwork.

I feel that they are pretty fair, so please don't abuse this!

*You may ONLY use art from these portions of my gallery:
General Usable Images
Pull Down Heaven comic
Soldier comic

*You MUST credit me if you use any of these images, either by linking to my DA gallery or by posting text on or near the image stating that it is (c) Moonsongwolf. If there is already a visible watermark on the image, you do not need to add text (links are always appreciated, but not required if there is a visible watermark).

*You may repost these images on other sites as long as they are non-profit, non-political, non-religious, and free of hate speech directed to gender, race, religion, or sexuality.

*You may use these images for things such as school projects, as long as I am credited and, if applicable, watermarks are left intact.

*You may save my art to your computer or print a personal copy for your own enjoyment. This is not limited to art from the Usable Art folder; this applies to all of my art.

*It's not the best teaching tool, but you may use these images for pose references and such. You still must credit my work if you are tracing or otherwise "heavily referencing."

*You may not manipulate or alter my images in any way, other than to resize them in their entirety and/or add text to them stating that they are (c) Moonsongwolf. Manipulation includes, but is not limited to, changing colours, removing backgrounds, and adding/changing characters and effects. If you need stock images, please visit my stock account at MoonsongStock

Why can I only use certain artwork? What if I want to use another image?

A very large portion of my gallery consists of trades, gifts, and commissions for other people. I do not consider it ethical for me to give permission for artwork of someone else's character to be used without their knowledge or consent! I will only make exceptions if you can prove to me that you have received permission from the character's owner/creator to use the image. I also have a few photo manipulations which I have made with other people's photographs (with their permission), and not all of them allow photo manipulations made with their photos to be reposted. Again, I will make exceptions if you receive permission from all stock creators to repost artwork made with their stock.

Thanks for reading, and please note me if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for posting your rules.  Love your artwork and I know the PSP community is so happy to have your permission.
Do you allow tubing of your work for tags. Always would post your credits. Tubes (Removal of original backgrounds keeping the focus point of the artwork - to be utilized by members to create the above items)
These are for personal use only.non profit and non commercial usage
Thank you for information.

Hi! Thanks for taking an interest in my work. I would prefer that my artwork not be altered beyond resizing and/or adding text. However, if it's the photo manipulations that you are interested in, I have lots of photos (many of which I have used for my manipulations) available here on my stock account: moonsongstock.deviantart.com/ You could certainly use them for tubes! :)

Yes, it's a little like using the word 'normal' to describe a person. In reality. the only people that we think are 'normal' are the ones that we don't know well enough. ;) That's basically just my personal caveat for people using my art, though. It's intended more just as a rule that I can point to when someone is using my art in a way that I dislike rather than a straightedge definition of what's really going to piss off a 'normal' person or not.

Ha ha, just curious, what book are you reading? I had an interest in psychology a long time ago but haven't really done much study in it in a while (other than personality analysis, which I find fascinating).

"the language police:how pressure groups restict how children learn"(or something like the subtitle) i bought it when they said on the news "the newist 5 words you can't say in the classroom"

so. the religious right and the insane PC left go and cry and moan about things being offensive, crying touchy children and their butthurt parents, from the 80's and a bit before then, butcher tests, and textbooks.

some don't care how historically accurate work is.
they care if it offends someone

Sounds like an interesting book. I might have to check and see if my school library has it in stock sometime and check it out.

I think it's an admirable thing to be conscious and respectful of other people's thoughts and feelings... but only up until the point that it is practical and ethical to do so. I mean, really, rewriting history, being purposefully disingenuous, or neglecting to punish overtly bad behavior so that it doesn't "offend" someone is crossing the line. It's going to be a real slap in the face for some of the kids growing up under these types of influences when they get out into the job market someday and find that they don't have the social skill set to cope with negativity.

yeh but it goes to the point of "I don't like my son's history book, it dosen't mention enough disabled people in history"

"I don't like my daughter's science book, it dosen't mention enough African American women in the science fields

"this littature book is offensive, it dosen't have enough stories writen by older Native American authors"

"this kid's story book has to many boy characters, not enough positive handicaped ones and all the old people have bad sterotypes attached to them, plus they called the boy dog a "he" animals are not he's and she's. Plus the kids are brats in this book, and wear costumes and talk about Santa claus and pick up frogs"

I don't mind as long as someone asks first and isn't doing anything... weird with the character. But it would really, really annoy me if they just used it without asking. That's extremely rude.

It's hard not to overreact when someone steals something important to you. I've been guilty of flipping out about it a few times.

I agree. It would annoy me if I commissioned someone or traded with them, and they just let other people use my character without asking me. It seems rather rude (especially if you paid for the picture).

Always have respected and always will ^^. I once did a cool deal where our school had a poetry week. I asked several deviants around here if they wouldn't mind me making prints and showing them in the school. Was awesome how many said yes and the prints came out amazing as well ^^.

That's pretty cool! I wouldn't mind my art being used for something like that. It seems like a fun project that (for me) would make poetry more enjoyable by giving it a visual frame of reference. And kudos to you for asking permission. :)

Again, sorry for late response ^^;.

Yeah, it was pretty cool. My teacher enjoyed the idea and I had fun putting them up everywhere. Just one little problem; Most were anthro-ish pictures and I was in the Middle East ^^;. No one disliked them but everyone gave them a strange look rather than appreciating them as much as I hoped.

However! If I ever do something like that again I wouldn't change a thing ^^!

I like that you inluded the part about other people's characters. That was a very respectful thing to consider.

You really do get a lot of people on your page asking you, it must get annoying. o:

Well, I know that I would get a little bit annoyed at someone using artwork of one of my characters for blogs or RPing if I didn't know about it beforehand! So I try to treat other people's characters with the same respect.

And, yes, it does get annoying. Very annoying. Between that and the "do u do requests?" people, that is. I guess it could be worse, though. I could have trolls or sexual deviants leaving comments on my page.
