Artist's Comments

Shy is honored as the Mother of all Wolves and the God of family and fertility. She is the mate of the great god Odin, but some of her pups bear the lineage of Fenrir, who raped her while Odin slept during the New Moon. Shy is often associated with the daytime sky and the rising of the sun.

This was a lot of fun. There is a little bit of influence from Chrono Trigger's Kingdom of Zeal in the floating rock, but other than that there were no inspirations or references used. Oh, and I played with filters!

For those who are curious, unlike most of the other wolf gods, very little of Shy and her history is based on Norse mythology. She is mostly my own creation. Shy is pronounced "she," and it means "cloud" in the Norwegian language.

Beautiful pic! It is nice to see the usage of Norse mythology. Not many use it. I used it a few times for my tiger Vidar and the beast Hela. It is an interesiting Mythology. Lovely pose and great composition.
