Artist's Comments

A commission for ~Kiba-White-Fang of his alpha white wolf and four of his younger packmates.

The wolves are actually darker and more shaded in the original. I tried to correct the colours and such, but this was as close as I could get. Damn scanner.

It was my first time using an air brush (for the aurora). The green is actually metallic/iridescent green, very unique paint. Sadly, the scanner can't pick that characteristic up. I used white charcoal for some of the white aurora effects and Kiba's breath... but then the fixative that I used over it did not allow me to use goauche as I had planned. Thus, the second "first"... I used acrylic paint for the first time in, oh, ten years. Despite my distaste for the short drying time, it had some interesting properties that I would like to experiment with again.

The green highlights are what really make this come alive. I like the breath effect too.
