For :iconwolf250:'s Amaterasu contest. It gave me a good excuse to draw Ammy again.

Kinse and Ammy prepare to do battle to protect the land. Kinse seems like a very sweet, silly guy. But even the kindest, gentlest people occasionally have to fight for what they believe in, and I don't think that Kinse would be any different. As someone wiser than I once said, terrible things happen when good people stand by and do nothing.

I had a hard time deciding whether to do this completely in Okami-style or interpreting it all in a more realistic style. I went with the realism, obviously. I just wish that the fur textures showed up better in the smaller versions. It looks so much better pre-shrunk. :( Oh, and that Reflector? That's about ten layers of "soft lighting." It took forever to make it look right.

The fur and glowing reflector are amazing! And the the clouds.....8D awesome!

It's an older piece, so it really isn't up to the same standard of work that I can do now. I like to keep my main gallery fairly current with what I consider my best work. :)
