Download for largest size.

Some of the folks who entered my Vesperian character contest requested their newly created characters for their sketch prizes. So I gave them a bit of an upgrade in the form of trying out some new shrinky dink sheets that I found at the craft store.

From left to right:

Comma and Alma for ~HeartSongWolf
Charlotte for ~The-Devine-Rat (includes silver key necklace)
Switchback for =Enaxn (includes golden gear and chain)

Medium: Coloured pencil on shrinky dink paper with matte fixative.

So cool! I wander if you can find those shrinking sheets at a hobby lobby store?

Thanks! :)

We don't have Hobby Lobby in my area, so I couldn't say for sure. But I imagine that they would either have it or be able to order it. They seem to have a similar stock of art supplies as Michael's, which is where I bought my shrinky dinks. If they don't have them and can't order them, I'm sure you can find somewhere online that sells them!

Shrinky dinks are an absolute blast to make! You can even get them in "printable" sheets, so you make them even if you prefer to do digital art by printing your digital drawings right onto the sheet. My partner uses the printable ones to make counters for his role-playing games, and of course you can use them for keychains, charms, pendants, etc. :)

Aaaaahhh these are all so AWESOME!! Omg they're actual little physical dangly awesome things HOW I don't even know??? They all look so good too! I love how the far left set has the little rattie dangling off by themselves. It's a really neat gesture! I'd totally sit there tinking the little rattie with my finger going EHEHEE 8D like a damn fool ahaha. The SECOND one I LOVE the dangly key! At first I thought it was part of the art but I can SO see it now! and you also added it to the description ssshhh. I love his dapper pose as well!

And SWITCHIE. Omg Switchie looks just AWESOME! Her toned down blue looks just fabulous eee! I love her pretty tiger face fluffies amg I LOVE THE WAY YOU DRAW TIGERS. I'm so happy you like them and draw them so much because it makes me so happy when you draw them omg I just SHE LOOKS SO GOOD AHAHA. Look at her lovely slim black leggies and all those lovely stripes omg. She has got to be TINY so the face that you crammed all those details in just *astounds me*. Her eye spots and whisker stripes too look just *perfect*!. And the little gear dangly is AMAZING. It's like an actual accessory that could have fallen off her actual gear dangly and I am just in LOVE with it! Omg this is the neatest lil giftie EVER! Thank you SO so much for this!:heart::heart:

I'm really glad that you liked her! I hope you will like her even more when you get her in the mail. I FINALLY got a pile of little jewellery boxes, and they seem to hold these little guys just fine. So I'll have her shipped out to you next week while I'm on ~MARCH BREAK~ (which couldn't come soon enough, in my opinion). Shrinky dinks are so cool. You can pack so many little details into such a small space because they shrink down to like 1/3 the original size. I've had so much fun with these! I can't wait to make some of my own characters later, when I have some free time! :D

(Also, I apologize for the super-late reply! I've been so busy at work lately that I haven't had much time to get online.)

OMG GOOD. I was worried you had already sent it and it was stolen. We get out mail stolen from its box occasionally and I would have been PISSED if those lowlifes took my shrinkydink! So I'm glad it's still safely with you! And YES I agree March Break sounds lovely! Though it could afford to be a little warmer. I need to sit outside with a sangria right now, man.

Ugh, agreed on the "warmer" part... it just snowed again last night! I'm supposed to be sitting at home doing nothing all week long, not shoveling snow AGAIN, dammit!! Oh well, at least we finally made it out to meadery yesterday, so I've got a fat batch of honey wine to warm me back up when I'm done. ;)

Thanks! They are a lot of fun once you get used to them. I think part of the trick is finding a good medium (not everything works well on them). I used prismacolor coloured pencils, which worked nicely. :)

They are made with shrinky dinks, which is a special type of plastic "paper." It shrinks in the oven, becoming about 1/3 its original size and 6 times as thick. :)
