He's standing on a ledge overlooking the temple on the previous page. The temple is farther in the distance, so it looks smaller due to the perspective. :)

This is quite an amazing story so far. :3 I love the backgrounds, the character designs, the atmosphere and overall mysterious feeling of the comic. You and your partner are doing a marvelous job! ^^
