Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance.

A trade with :iconinkspirit: of her very cool otter character Inky.

Otters are fascinating, energetic little critters, and I wanted to show a bit of their playful nature in this one. Seeing an otter leap and cavort in the water is like watching the best kind of dance. I must have looked at a hundred reference photos before starting. I had no clue what otter pawpads actually looked like.

Also, I had to include a discus (that's the big plate-shaped, fin-laden bastard in the bottom right corner). They're my favourite fish. :heart:

WOw this this looks fantastic! I really love the split image, below and above the water's surface. It's just incredible. As for this Sea otter? The look explains it all: happy, playful and care free. Wonderful job on this, bravo :)

For some reason, I've always taken a liking to otters. They're just so funny and cute looking. What a lovely pose! He looks so happy bounding in that water. Aye, I love the anatomy and the lighting.
